Falcon Darkstar has held various roles in the tech industry since 2008. In 2009, they worked as a Computer Service Manager (ConnectPro Lead) at Future Shop. In 2011, they worked as a Service Delivery Technician at Intact Financial Corporation, where they supported Lotus Notes and Exchange and trained dozens of users. In 2012, they worked as an Infrastructure Architect at Hitachi ID Systems, Inc., where they supported and analyzed identity and access management software, maintained a virtual dev environment, and did bug hunting and QA. From 2013 to 2022, they worked at Leviathan Security Group, first as a Senior Security Architect, where they set up standards for penetration testing and vulnerability assessment engagements, provided a technical escalation path for staff, and explained their work to clients. They also maintained Leviathan's report generating tool, Kraken, and led a team of technical leads to drive research and personnel development forward. They then worked as a Security Consultant, where they did research and penetration testing and implemented a crashdump analysis tool. In 2022, they began working as a Product Security Manager at Aiven.
Falcon Darkstar has a comprehensive educational history. Falcon obtained a B. Sc. in Computer Science from The University of Lethbridge between 2007 and 2012. Falcon then went on to receive a Master of Science in Information Systems from Athabasca University between 2014 and 2021. In 2021, they began a Master of Business Administration program at Western Governors University, which is expected to be completed in 2023. Falcon Darkstar also holds certifications from (ISC)\u00b2 (CISSP, obtained in 2017), Cloud Security Alliance (CCSK, obtained in 2016), and CompTIA (A+, obtained in an unknown year).
