Filip Yonov

Filip Yonov has a wealth of experience in product management and product ownership. Filip began their career in 2011 as a Management Consultant for EY (Ernst & Young). In 2014, they became a Product Owner for Docker Enterprise at IBM. In 2016, they took on the role of Senior Product Owner at REWE digital, where they worked with modern software development approaches such as REST APIs, Microservices, Cloud (Google & AWS), UI Composition Pattern, Apache Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker, Postman, Swagger, etc. In 2017, they moved to Booking.com as Senior Product Manager Core Infra. From 2018 to 2022, they were Lead and Senior Product Owner - Kafka @ ING, where they were responsible for all Kafka environments and various other components. Filip also designed solutions, managed backlogs, and led teams that transformed data into streams. In 2022, they joined Aiven as Director of Product Management, where they are responsible for Apache Kafka and Apache Flink capabilities and their ecosystem.

Filip Yonov has a diverse educational background. Filip obtained a Master of Science (MSc) in Strategic Management from the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University in 2012. Filip also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Information Systems and Economics from the American University in Bulgaria between 2007 and 2011. Additionally, Filip holds several certifications from institutions such as EPAM Systems, Lynda.com, IBM, International Business Consultants (IBC), Projectservices, and International Business Consultants (IBC). These certifications include EPAM - SCRUM Training (2018), Agile Product Owner (2017), Agile Software Development (2016), Program and Portfolio Management (2015), Pyramid Structuring - Result-driven Business Communication (2015), and The Art of Project Management (2015).
