Senior Software Engineer at Aiven

Patrick Stählin has worked in the software engineering field since 1999. Patrick started their career as a Software Developer at Opus Software AG in 1999. In 2004, they moved to Encodo Systems AG as a Software Engineer. From 2008 to 2012, they worked as a Software Engineer at futureLAB AG, where they were the Lead Developer for digitalSTROM Server, an OpenSource product. Patrick then moved to Squirro as a Senior Software Engineer from 2012 to 2015. After that, they returned to futureLAB AG as a Senior Software Engineer, where they transitioned the backend from generating HTML-Sites to a REST based API of an existing media archive/research solution for police-work, re-architectured large parts of the back-end, engineered full-text-search based on ElasticSearch, and was responsible for API-Design (REST) and all architectural decisions. Patrick then moved to Digitalparking AG in 2019, where they held the roles of Principal Software Engineer and Senior Software Engineer. Currently, they are a Senior Software Engineer at Aiven since 2022.

Patrick Stählin received their degree as an Engineer in Information Technology from ZHAW Zurich University of Applied Sciences between 2004 and 2007. Prior to this, they obtained a degree as an Application Developer in Information Technology from TBZ Technische Berufsschule Zürich between 1999 and 2003.
