Tony Ibbs

Tony Ibbs has a long and varied work experience. Tony began their career as a Research Assistant at Glasgow University Department of Topographic Science in 1991. Tony then moved to Laser-Scan as a Senior Software Engineer in 1998. In 2004, they became a Software Consultant at SJ Consulting, followed by a similar role at Amino Communications in 2006. Tony then moved to Kynesim Ltd as a Software Consultant in 2008, where they built embedded Linux systems, kept builds working, wrote libraries, and did Python consulting. In 2014, they became a Senior Software Engineer at Velocix, which was part of Alcatel-Lucent. In 2016, they moved to Nokia as a Senior Software Engineer, where they worked with Python, FLASK, and REST as part of a Scrum team. Tony was also an FOSS advisor. In 2017, they became a Staff Software Engineer at Arm, followed by a similar role at Treasure Data in 2019. Tony is currently a Developer Educator at Aiven.

Tony Ibbs received a Master of Arts in Computer Science from Emmanuel College, University of Cambridge in 1981, having studied there from 1979.
