Samuel Chen is the founder and CEO of AIxMed (2018–present), a startup applying AI in medicine with a focus on digital pathology and cytology. They previously led AI initiatives at Compal as VP, AI Labs, Smart Device Business Group (2015–2018) and served as co-CEO/CTO of Anchiva Systems (2006–2008). They held multiple software leadership roles at Trend Micro from 2003 to 2006, including VP of Quality, Sr Director of Software Development and Quality Assurance, VP of Software Development, and Software Architect, and earlier worked as a Software Engineer at TA Engineering (1993–1995), National Semiconductor (1995), and Sun Microsystems (1995–1997). They earned a BS in Computer Engineering from National Chiao Tung University (1984–1988) and an MS in Computer Science from the University of Southern California (1991–1993).
