Stephen Rust

Stephen Rust is an experienced technology professional currently serving as Principal Architect Lead at Akamai Technologies since June 2020, specializing in Cloud Native Architecture. Prior roles include Principal Software Engineer Lead at Akamai Linode and Senior Software Engineer at the Cloud Native Computing Foundation, where Stephen holds the position of CNCF TAG-Runtime Co-Chair. Previously, Stephen contributed significantly to Blockbridge Networks as a Senior Member of Technical Staff, and at F5 Networks, played a key role in the storage virtualization team post-acquisition of Acopia Networks. Stephen's career began at Acopia Networks and Sun Microsystems, focusing on storage virtualization and kernel development, respectively. Stephen holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Valparaiso University.
