Luis Yerman is a Research Fellow in Timber Durability at the ARC's Advanced Timber Hub, focusing on fire safety, treatments, and wood durability. They hold a PhD in Chemical Sciences and have previously served as Team Leader at UQ, leading research on timber in relation to fire and moisture intrusion. Currently, they work as a Senior Researcher at AKD while building on their extensive background in materials chemistry and environmental engineering, which includes significant projects on biomass management and semiconductor materials development. Luis' academic journey includes degrees from Universitat de Barcelona and Universidad de la República.
