David J. Nelson

David J. Nelson, PE, LEED AP, serves as Senior Vice President at both Akela Engineering & Consulting and Michael Baker International, where David is also the Practice Executive for Commercial Engineering. Previously, David held the position of Senior Vice President and Healthcare Sector Leader at Glumac, along with roles as Principal and Associate Principal, focusing on project management and client relations. David's earlier experience includes serving as Sr. Project Manager and Director of Electrical Engineering at GLP Engineering, where focus areas included institutional and educational projects, and as an Electrical Engineer at Advantech Facility Design, where early career development began. David holds a Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Arizona and two Associate degrees from Pima Community College in Mechanical Design and Electro-Mechanical Design.
