Keith Burton's work experience begins in 1996 when they became the Managing Director of PlantLife, a company that provided simulation operator training services to the oil and gas industry. During this time, they developed simulators for various facilities and managed teams of engineers.
In 2000, Burton joined AMEC as an Engineer, where they were responsible for delivering the Bonga FPSO operator training simulator and managing the pre-commissioning of turbine-driven systems.
Burton then moved to Honeywell Process Solutions in 2006, where they served as a Lead Project Engineer and managed technical standards and commissioning services for a large-scale project.
From 2011 to 2013, Burton worked as a Project Manager at Honeywell Norway, overseeing projects and ensuring their successful completion.
In 2013, Burton took on the roles of Infrastructure Lead and later Commissioning Manager at Honeywell Process Solutions. Keith was responsible for infrastructure development and management, as well as overseeing commissioning services for major projects.
In 2018, Burton joined Fluor Corporation as a Senior Control Engineer, where they contributed to the development of the functional design specification for a multi-billion-dollar project.
In 2020, Burton became the Automation Specialist Team Lead at G3 Leopold EI&C/Automation, where they played a key role in managing automation projects.
In 2021, Burton joined ICSS as an ICSS Engineer, where they utilized their expertise in industrial control systems and automation.
Lastly, in 2022, Burton joined Aker Solutions as a Principal Engineer Cyber Security. In this role, they worked closely with the cyber security department to achieve company-wide cyber security certification and developed tools to enable suppliers to deliver cyber security compliant packages.
Keith Burton received a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Oxford Brookes University, completing their studies from 2010 to 2013. Prior to that, they obtained a BSC(Hons) in Chemical Engineering from Teesside University, graduating in 1986 after completing a four-year program from 1982 to 1986.
