Robert Steinbock has a diverse work experience in the engineering field. In 2010, they began their career as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Michigan Plasma, Pulsed Power, and Microwave Laboratory. In 2011, they became an Intern at Westinghouse Electric Company where they generated and documented nuclear refuel core models and accident simulations and developed a user interface and script to automate the execution of core simulations. In 2012, Robert joined Bechtel Power Corporation as a Design Engineer and was responsible for transferring mechanical systems to the client for startup testing. Additionally, they were the conceptual designer and co-developer for a central engineering database that tracked over 25,000 components to construction completion and turnover. Robert's most recent role was as Co-founder and CTO of AkitaBox, a SaaS application for proactive building management, from 2014 to the present.
Robert Steinbock obtained a Bachelor of Science and Engineering in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Michigan College of Engineering between 2007 and 2011. Robert then went on to obtain a Master of Science and Engineering in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Michigan - Rackham Graduate School between 2011 and 2012. Additionally, they hold an Engineer In Training certification from the Maryland Board of Professional Engineers.
