Sinem Semsioglu

Sinem Semsioglu has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and industries. Sinem is currently working as a Frontend Web Developer at Akkio. Prior to this, they worked at Koç Üniversitesi KARMA Mixed Reality Lab as an AR/VR Mentor and Developer from August 2018 to January 2023. Sinem also served as a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant at KUAR: Koç University- Arçelik Research Center for Creative Industries from September 2016 to June 2022. Sinem has worked as a Software Developer and Design Consultant at Macerita from August 2019 to August 2021. Sinem also worked as an Instructor at Hub21 from February 2020 to July 2020. Sinem's previous experience includes working as a Frontend Web Developer at Relimetrics, Inc. from September 2018 to March 2019, and as a Web Developer at Monitise MEA from September 2015 to October 2016. Earlier in their career, Sinem worked as a Mathematics Tutor and Computer Lab Assistant at Oberlin College from September 2011 to December 2014. Sinem also gained research experience as an Undergraduate Researcher at Carnegie Mellon University from May 2014 to July 2014, focusing on Hausdorff Metric Space.

Sinem Semsioglu completed their Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Oberlin College, from the year 2011 to 2015. Sinem then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Design, Technology, and Society at Koç University, starting in 2016. In 2014, Sinem participated in a Study Abroad program called Budapest Semesters in Math, focusing on Mathematics. In the year 2013, they briefly attended Boğaziçi University, although no degree or field of study is specified. Sinem also participated in a Pre-College Summer Program in Architecture at Pratt Institute in 2010 and a Pre-College Summer Intensive in Product Design at Parsons School of Design - The New School in 2009. Additionally, they obtained a Triplebyte Certification in Frontend, NodeJS, and Python from Triplebyte in March 2023.
