Christopher Calvert

Chris’s expertise in federal, state, and local environmental guidelines is a valuable asset for his clients, providing much needed strategic guidance and creativity to move complex projects through the approvals process.

Chris directs the National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA) practice for transportation projects and manages numerous environmental review and transportation planning projects throughout New York and nationally. He and his team won recognition for their speedy and intensive work to complete a full environmental review in 11 months for the Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge to replace the Tappan Zee Bridge. Chris is currently leading the firm’s work for the New York City Central Business District Tolling Program, I-81 Viaduct in Syracuse, and Brooklyn-Queens Expressway Atlantic to Sands Rehabilitation, which includes the famed triple cantilever structure. His comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and local environmental review procedures includes those for Section 4(f) of the U.S. Department of Transportation Act, Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, and Executive Order 12898, Environmental Justice.
