Actuarial Society of Turkey was founded on May 25, 1951. There were 12 founding members of the society. The society has now grown to over 155 members. Members of the TAC are employed by insurance/pension/reinsurance companies, brokers, educational institutions, state insurance departments, the government and independent consulting firms.

The Actuarial Society of Turkey  is a professional organization whose purpose is the advancement of the body of knowledge of actuarial science applied to property, casualty, and similar risk exposures. 

Actuarial Society of Turkey is the full member of International Actuarial Association (IAA).

Actuarial Society of Turkey is the observer member of  Actuarial Association of Europe (AAE).
