Venon Mapfunde

Venon Mapfunde is the current Head of Engineering at Aku. Prior to this, they were the Co-Founder and Chief Operations Officer at Poscloud from October 2018 to July 2020. Venon has also served as the Software Team Lead at Invenico from August 2020 to December 2020. Mapfunde started their career as the Team Lead-Software Development at Getbucks Microfinance Bank from July 2018 to September 2018. Venon then became the Head of IT and Product Development at Getcash from May 2016 to June 2018. In this role, they were responsible for providing strategic guidance to senior stakeholders to improve business choices of investments in IT technologies, systems and services. Venon also defined the overall direction and architecture of the systems, infrastructure and solutions for the business. Mapfunde has a wealth of experience in evaluating the relevance, capacity and capabilities of automated administrative systems, investigating technological advances and identifying, proposing and addressing areas of improvement in IT infrastructure/ systems. Venon is also experienced in developing new and upgraded approaches and solutions to the provision of information services for businesses. Furthermore, Mapfunde has designed and ensured that IT and Information Security policies are strictly enforced across all supported environments and that Company’s systems and hardware are appropriately protected. Venon has also created and maintained documentation that describes current and future capabilities, service delivery and service quality criteria, service continuity and disaster recovery, appreciation of security, financial planning and user experience. In their most recent roles, Mapfunde has mitigate risk by safeguarding assets through planning and implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures so as to ensure business continuity.
