Simon Doran is an experienced professional with a strong background in marine services and environmental sustainability. Currently serving as the Business Development Manager for Marine Services at AkzoNobel, Simon is focused on combating biofouling to enhance vessel performance. As the Chairperson of the GEF-UNDP-IMO GloFouling Partnerships, Simon is committed to reducing the transfer of invasive species and lowering greenhouse gas emissions in shipping. Previously, Simon held the position of Managing Director at HullWiper Ltd, where innovation in the HullWiper brand established it as a leading marine biosafety solution, and at GAC Environhull, further promoting environmentally safe practices in the industry. With extensive experience dating back to a General Manager role at UMC International and a military background as a Clearance/EOD Diver in the Royal Navy, Simon brings valuable expertise to the marine sector. Simon holds a Bachelor of Science in Social Psychology from the Weymouth Distance Learning Centre.
