John Tomlins has a diverse work experience spanning from 2011 to the present. John started as a Network Software Engineer at Intel Corporation in 2011, working on projects that were showcased at Fall IDF 2011. In 2013, they joined Oxfam Ireland as a Volunteer Assistant/IT Support, where they provided IT support for both customers and the shop, as well as performed tasks such as testing, repairing, and pricing electronics. From 2014 to 2019, they worked as a Software Developer at ProductWorld, using Titanium IDE and JavaScript to develop applications for iPhone, iPad, and Android devices. John also utilized Swift to develop HIPAA compliant mobile pharmacy applications for iOS. Most recently, in 2019, they joined A&L Goodbody as a Service Desk Analyst.

John Tomlins completed their education at two different institutions. From 2001 to 2007, they attended Christian Brothers College, where they obtained their Leaving Certificate. During this time, they studied subjects such as English, Irish, Mathematics, Geography, History, Classical Studies, Latin, French, and Chemistry. Following that, from 2008 to 2012, John attended University College Cork, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Science.

In addition to their formal education, John also obtained several certifications. In September 2014, they became a Titanium Certified Developer through Appcelerator. Most recently, in June 2022, they obtained the Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals certification from Microsoft.
