Stephen Carson

Stephen Carson has extensive experience in the asset management and investment funds industry. Stephen started their career as a Legal and Compliance Officer at RBC Dexia Investor Services Ireland Limited in 2005, where they worked until 2006. Stephen then joined William Fry as an Associate in the Asset Management and Investment Funds group in 2006 and remained there until 2010. In 2008, Stephen had a brief stint at BlackRock Advisors (UK) Limited as a Secondee, working on Product Governance.

In 2010, Stephen joined A&L Goodbody LLP as an Associate in the Asset Management & Investment Funds group and held this role until 2015. During this time, they provided advice to international asset management firms and investment banks on the establishment and authorization of various types of investment funds. Stephen also represented promoters and service providers of Irish domiciled investment funds. In 2015, Stephen became a Partner at A&L Goodbody, working in the same group and continuing their advisory work.

Stephen's career at A&L Goodbody continued to flourish, and in 2018, they became the Head of the London Office, a position they held until 2022. Currently, Stephen is serving as the Head of Asset Management & Investment Funds at A&L Goodbody, a role they assumed in 2023.

Stephen Carson attended Sligo Grammar School from 1992 to 1998. Stephen then pursued a Bachelor of Civil Laws degree at University College Cork from 1998 to 2001. Afterwards, from 2003 to 2005, Carson studied at The Honorable Society of King's Inns, where they obtained a degree in Barrister at Law. In 2006 and 2007, they attended the Law Society of Ireland to earn a Diploma in Applied Finance Law. Finally, in 2011, they completed their education at the Law Society of Ireland and became a Solicitor.
