Matthew Weitz

Project Engineer, Aviation at Alabama Technology Network

Matthew Weitz is the Aviation/Continuous Improvement Project Engineer, at Alabama Technology Network (ATN), where he works to assist Alabama manufacturers improve their processing using continuous improvement tools.

In addition to his time with ATN, Matthew has 18 years of experience in aviation and aerospace integration for special projects. Matthew served multiple years as a Senior Program Management Team Lead, 2 years as a Project Planner, surveyed countless aircraft for retrofits, and acted as a consultant/ liaison engineer to several major airlines. These achievements were made possible through Matthew’s dedication, communication, leadership skills and attention to detail.

Prior to joining ATN, Matthew was the Senior Project Planner for Airbus Space and Defense and was responsible for the schedules and coordination of plans for the Maintenance Repair Organization. Prior to his time with Airbus he worked for 15 years with Star Aviation (later Carlisle Interconnect Technologies) as the Project Management Lead, where he worked closely with upper management, manufacturing, and engineering to ensure all levels of program success for the integration of various aircraft systems and upgrades.

Matthew is certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP).

A graduate from Purdue University, Matthew holds a Master's degree in Industrial Technology and a Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Administration Technology. When not at work he enjoys spending time with his wife and three amazing children, camping, wood working, home improvement projects, and tinkering with automobiles.
