Matt Kay

Matt Kay has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Matt is currently working as a Senior Product Manager at Alamy, a leading stock photography and video agency, where they focus on ecommerce innovation and driving continuous delivery of value to the business and customers.

Prior to this, Matt was the Head of Commercial Products at Springer Nature Group, where they led a team of product managers and focused on the discovery and development of commercial solutions for a leading scientific publisher. Matt also held roles as the Head of Advertising Technology, Senior Product Manager, and Product Manager at Springer Nature, where they managed a portfolio of commercially-focused products and implemented a Data Management Platform.

Before their time at Springer Nature, Matt worked as a New Business Project Manager at Zone, where they managed and won pitches to major commercial and charity clients, implemented an agency-wide CRM system, and managed a significant agency marketing budget. Matt also worked at Shell as a Global Innovation and Research Adviser, overseeing the launch of Shell's global innovation competition.

Matt started their career at Macmillan Education, where they held various roles including Digital Marketing Manager, responsible for all digital marketing for an international educational publisher, and Marketing Executive & Systems Coordinator, where they focused on international marketing and promotion of Macmillan's lists and the development of a new Market and Product database system.

Additionally, Matt founded Silver Ink Studio, a London-based photography studio, where they worked with diverse clients ranging from individuals to large corporations, providing photography services.

Matt Kay obtained a BA Hons degree in Philosophy with Sociology from The Manchester Metropolitan University between 1996 and 1999. In addition, they have obtained several certifications including the PRINCE2 Agile Practitioner Certificate in Agile Project Management from AXELOS Global Best Practice in November 2021, the PRINCE2 Agile Foundation Certificate in Agile Project Management from AXELOS Global Best Practice in February 2021, and the Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) certification from Scrum Alliance in April 2015.
