At Alan Baxter we believe that a holistic approach leads to better buildings and places for people to live, work, and enjoy themselves.

Since 1974 the firm has grown from a structural engineering practice into a highly regarded consultancy involved in the wider issues of cities and urbanism and all aspects of the built environment, as well as the design of buildings. Our urban designers, engineers, and conservation experts collaborate closely every day.

The firm's success comes from our breadth of knowledge, imaginative ideas and the ability to weave these strands together to create valuable holistic and sustainable solutions.

Located in the heart of Clerkenwell, our buildings also host a community of organisations (businesses, charities and special interest groups) involved in the built environment, as well as the Gallery, a venue for lectures and exhibitions where many of the key issues on architecture, environment and urban design are debated.

Our stimulating and challenging workload mean that we are always keen to find new talented people to join us. We have a well regarded programme of professional development and training, with a high level of professional and social interaction aimed at broadening ambition and vision.
