Matthew Jackson

Matthew Jackson is an experienced engineering leader with a career spanning over a decade in software development and management. Currently serving as the Director of Engineering at Alation since April 2021, Matthew oversees multiple teams across the US, India, and Poland, managing various phases of the software development lifecycle. Previously, at Birst, Matthew held several positions, culminating as Senior Software Engineering Manager, where responsibilities included managing multiple teams, hiring developers and QA Analysts, and acting as a project manager. Early career experiences include roles at ClearSlide, Inc., Symantec, and Unitrends, where Matthew developed iOS applications and contributed to backup solutions. Matthew holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from Clemson University.
