In Hong Kong, companies generating up to US$100m of revenue per year have added US$18.2m in additional debt and consumed an additional US$1.9m of working capital on their balance sheets – and that is just in the last five years. These companies have also started in eat into cash balances that they spent years building. In the last two years, average cash balances have dropped by US$1.6m.
