Ivan Simic

Ivan Simic is currently a Lecturer at Charles University in Prague, where they teach courses on gender, race, and religion. They are also a Senior Policy Analyst with the Government of Alberta, focusing on strategic policy work. Previously, Ivan served as an Assistant Professor and Principal Investigator on a large project examining communist gender policies towards Muslim minorities in Eastern Europe. They held postdoctoral and research fellow positions at institutions including Carleton University and Yale University and earned a PhD from University College London, where their research culminated in a published book on Soviet influences on postwar Yugoslav gender policies. Ivan is dedicated to promoting accessible education and dismantling academic elitism.
