John Porter

John Porter, CISSP, is an experienced technology leader currently serving as the CTO/Director of Court Technology Services for the Government of Alberta since February 2012. In this role, John oversees the delivery of IT services to Alberta’s Courts and Judiciary, managing a team of 50 across various domains including information security, application development, and business continuity. Previous positions include interim CIO, Assistant Director of Court Technology Services, and Judicial IT Security Officer, where John led significant projects, such as a $19M technology implementation for a state-of-the-art courthouse. John’s educational background includes an Executive Leadership degree from Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, and multiple certifications in cyber security and networking from reputable institutions.
