Taking the abstract and making it real. This is where we take the technology that is a part of your business and make it more useful for your RIA practice. RIA firms just do not have the capacity to bring in the human capital that is needed to review the “tech stack”, figure out where operational efficiency, through technology and business practice, training, or maybe an overall change of tech to better support the current and future. 

Time is of the essence for RIA’s to make informed decisions, plan a change, migrate data and process, educate the team on platform change. You do not have business analysts, project managers, programmers, and developers on staff to develop the level of change.

Most firms learn the basics, or just mimic what they did on a previous solution. This leads to poor adoption and huge misses in operational efficiency. Providing you a baseline to allow growth with a fair and efficient tech stack should be the goal, as you are spending a LOT of money to have these products and services as a part of your business operation.

Additionally, the negotiation process, key details within the agreement, data, cybersecurity, vendor review, etc. are huge requirements to understand, and even more important is the ability to negotiate a comprehensive agreement to protect yourself now and in the future.

There is so much more tech available to RIA’s than ever before, and you just do not have the time to look at every piece of the puzzle to see which one is the best fit.

A lot of this is similar to my favorite hobbies, building cars and airplanes. There are so many paths available to build exactly what you want that will make you happy, but it takes experience, knowledge, and most likely a little or a lot of outsourcing to get a final build that you will be happy with, and it takes time also!!
