Chris Phillips has over 25 years of extensive experience in the alumina and mining industries, currently serving as the Global Technical Manager at Alcoa since 1997. In this role, Chris oversees the Technical Department and is responsible for global caustic soda and bauxite usage optimization, as well as strategic planning for multiple refineries. Previous positions include Senior Process Consultant, where Chris led teams in process control and optimization, and Technical & IT Manager, focused on developing operating strategies for large alumina refineries. Additionally, Chris serves as a Board Member and current Board Chair for Willetton Senior High School, contributing to finance and partnerships committees. Chris holds an MBA from The University of Western Australia and a Six Sigma Blackbelt certification, alongside a Bachelor’s degree in Minerals Engineering from Curtin University.
