Alex Garfio

Alex Garfio has a diverse work experience in the field of industrial design. Alex currently works as the Principal Industrial Designer at Alcon, where they focus on designing and developing Opthalmic Surgical Instrumentation products with a strong emphasis on human factors and usability. Prior to that, they founded and served as the Principal Industrial Designer at Allo Design, where they created impactful products and experiences by bridging technology and lifestyle. Alex also worked as the Director of Industrial Design at FUGOO, where they established and nurtured the internal design team, brought innovative waterproof and shockproof speakers to market, and disrupted the outdoor portable speaker market. Additionally, Alex has experience as an Industrial Design Manager at Masimo Corporation, Acer America Corp., Gateway, Universal Electronics, and Lum Design Associates, where they led various design projects and collaborated with cross-functional teams to develop user-centered solutions. Throughout their career, Alex has demonstrated expertise in conducting research, implementing design strategies, and managing engineering efforts to meet end user needs.

Alex Garfio earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design from California State University, Long Beach from 1994 to 2001.
