Catherine Powell

Catherine Powell is a seasoned professional in clinical evaluations and regulatory science, currently serving as Senior Franchise Group Head and Associate Director of Clinical Evaluations at Alcon since April 2022. In this role, Catherine leads a team responsible for producing high-quality clinical evaluation documentation throughout the lifecycle of medical devices and collaborates with various stakeholders to support lifecycle management. Prior to Alcon, Catherine held multiple roles at RQM+ from October 2018 to April 2022, including Associate Project Manager and Senior Regulatory Scientist. Catherine's academic background includes a Doctor of Philosophy in Biomedical Sciences from The Ohio State University and a Bachelor of Science in Cell Biology and Molecular Genetics from the University of Maryland. Additionally, Catherine conducted research on epigenetic regulation of metabolic diseases during a postdoctoral fellowship at Texas A&M University and contributed to research at The Ohio State University Medical Center as a Graduate Research Associate.
