Hector Rubio

Hector Rubio has a diverse and extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Hector started their career at Valeant Pharmaceuticals in 2000 as a QA Compliance Specialist and Validation Specialist. From 2003 to 2006, they worked at Novartis Farmacéutica S.A. as a Production Supervisor. In 2006, they joined Alcon as the Head of Manufacturing and held this position until 2011. Hector then took on the role of Site Quality Head and Country Quality Head at Alcon's Barcelona Manufacturing Plant and Spain and Portugal Country organizations. From 2014 to 2015, they served as the Global Head of QA for Oncology Injectables at Sandoz, a Novartis Division, focusing on warning letter remediation. Hector later became the Site Quality Head at Alcon from 2015 to 2016. From 2016 to 2020, they worked as the Vice President and Global Quality Head for the Surgical Franchise at Alcon. In 2020, they were promoted to the position of General Manager of Aseptic Manufacturing, and in 2023, they became the Vice President and Global Head of Aseptic Technical Operations at Alcon.

Hector Rubio completed their MBA Part Time from Esade between 2005 and 2007. Prior to that, they obtained a BSc in Pharmacy from Universitat de Barcelona, which they pursued from 1995 to 2000.
