Rachel Thomas, PhD has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Rachel currently works as a Sr. Clinical Trial Lead at Alcon, where they are responsible for overseeing all aspects of assigned clinical trials and leading the global multidisciplinary Clinical Trial Team. Prior to their current role, they worked as a Clinical Trial Lead at Alcon, where they were accountable for planning, conducting, and reporting on clinical trials, as well as authoring robust clinical protocols.

Before joining Alcon, Rachel served as a PhD Candidate and Graduate Research Assistant at the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth from 2016 to 2021. Rachel also gained experience as a Clinical Research Coordinator Assistant at the Clinical Research Center of Alabama in 2015 and as a Clinical Research Coordinator at Chattanooga Medical Research from 2014 to 2016.

Rachel's work experience also includes an Undergraduate Summer Research Internship at Georgia Regents University in 2013.

Rachel Thomas, PhD, earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biomedical Sciences with a specialization in Immunology from UNT Health Science Center. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Biology with a Biomedical Concentration from Covenant College. Additionally, Rachel has obtained several certifications from LinkedIn in areas such as project management, leadership strategies, critical thinking, and creativity.
