Troy Tanner

Troy Tanner, PhD, MBA has a range of diverse work experience. Troy began their career as a Senior Engineer at Newport News Shipbuilding, where they worked from 1996 to 2003. Following that, Tanner served as the Chief Technology Officer at AdaptivEnergy LLC from 2003 to 2009. Troy then became a self-employed Engineering Consultant for a few months before joining Analytical Mechanics Associates, Inc. as a Staff Scientist and Project Team Lead from 2009 to 2012. Tanner then worked at Cymer as a Staff Mechanical Architect from 2012 to 2019. Currently, they hold the position of Senior Principal Engineer at Alcon, a role they have held since 2019.

Troy Tanner, PhD, MBA, has a rich education history. Troy completed their Bachelor's degree in Physics at California State University-San Bernardino from 1988 to 1991. Troy then pursued a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering at Old Dominion University, where they studied from 1994 to 1998. Troy continued their academic journey at Virginia Tech, earning a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from 1999 to 2003. Later, in 2011 and 2012, they attended Columbus State University to obtain an MBA in Business Administration. Additionally, Troy holds a certification in Six Sigma Foundations from LinkedIn, obtained in 2021.
