Ciara Howie

Ciara Howie currently serves as General Counsel at ALEC since September 2024, bringing extensive legal expertise from previous roles, including Head of Legal (Contracts) Department at Dubai Airports from January 2020 to September 2024 and Principal Associate at Gowling WLG from July 2010 to January 2020. Specializing in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate structuring, private equity transactions, and UAE employment law, Ciara has also provided counsel on family governance and wealth protection for Middle Eastern families. Early career experience includes positions at Shoora FBA, Agility, and Competitiveness, complemented by a solid educational background with an LLB from Nottingham Law School and a degree in International Business and Modern Languages from the University of Strathclyde.
