Renaud Schuck is a highly skilled scientist with extensive experience in neuroscience and engineering. Currently serving as a Staff Scientist at Alector since March 2022, Renaud specializes in FTIR label-free microscopy for diagnosing neurodegenerative diseases and the application of machine learning for disease classification. Previous roles include Senior Scientist and Scientific Project Manager at the Gladstone Institutes, Project Scientist at Berkeley Lab, and Lead Optical Engineer at Koniku, where Renaud focused on advanced optical technologies and 3D printing methodologies. Renaud's early career featured participation in the Neural Engineering Transformative Technology consortium at Imperial College London, alongside internships related to cochlear implants and neuron-electrode coupling. Renaud holds a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Imperial College London, a Master’s Degree in Neurobiology and Neuroengineering from the Technical University of Munich, and an Engineer’s Degree in Bioengineering from Grenoble INP - Phelma.
