Simon Owens

Simon Owens currently serves as the Engineering & Technical Director for alfanar Projects, overseeing the UK project portfolio and supporting global renewable fuels initiatives. Previously, Simon held the position of Head of Engineering & Technology at alfanar, directing the development and execution of the Lighthouse Green Fuels sustainable aviation fuel plant in Tees Valley, UK. Prior experience includes serving as Senior Engineering Specialist at alfanar and Engineering Manager at M+W Group, where project responsibilities encompassed the UK's first Energy from Waste Eco Park. Additional roles in process engineering at Advanced Plasma Power and other firms reflect a strong background in energy processes, including gasification and anaerobic digestion. Simon holds a Ph.D. and MEng in Chemical Engineering from the University of Bath.
