Usman Barkat

Usman Barkat is the Chief Innovation Officer at Algo, a leading technology services company. Usman has over 20 years of experience in the industry, with a focus on enterprise mobility, content management systems and portals, ERP implementation and bespoke software development.

Barkat began their career at Confiz in November 2016 as Vice President. In this role, they were responsible for leading strategic business development, growth, and Retail account acquisition and scale for Pakistan. Usman contributed to roadmap strategies for all business streams, developed value and volume strategies to meet annual targets, and led internal teams to identify, attract and retain new clients. Usman also drove partner sales while ensuring service quality and delivery velocity, and established and managed executive relationships with clients, suppliers, vendors and competitors.

In November 2017, Barkat left Confiz to join Light Speed Ventures as Chief Innovation Officer. In this role, they are responsible for leading the company's innovation efforts and driving growth through new product development and commercialization. Usman is also responsible for overseeing the company's R&D budget and ensuring that the company's products are market-leading and competitive.

Usman Barkat has a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Business Process Reengineering from The University of Salford, a Bachelor's Degree in Management - GDME from The University of Salford, a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) in Financial Accounting from the University Of Central Punjab, and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Economics from the University of the Punjab. Usman also has a certification in Supply Chain Management from U21 Global.
