Sergei Shevchenko

Sergei Shevchenko is a security researcher with over 25 years of professional experience in reverse-engineering malware and developing cybersecurity solutions. They served as a Senior Principal Software Engineer and Senior Malware Analyst at Symantec from 2006 to 2011, where they conducted advanced threat research and developed key malware detection tools. From 2011 to 2017, they worked as a Cyber Security Technical Specialist at BAE Systems Applied Intelligence, leading research on significant malware incidents and developing training programs. In their role as Threat Research Manager at Sophos from 2017 to 2020, they managed a global team focused on various platforms. Currently, they are the Director of Cloud Architecture at AlgoSec, having co-founded Prevasio, which was acquired in 2022. Sergei holds a Diploma of Engineering in Computer Engineering from the Technical University of Moldova.
