Chief Information Security Officer at Alias Forensics

Jonathan Kimmitt has extensive work experience in the field of information security and technology. Jonathan is currently serving as the Chief Information Security Officer at Alias Infosec since January 2023. Prior to this, they held the position of President - Oklahoma Chapter at the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA) starting from April 2021.

From 2018 to the present, Jonathan worked as a Data Security & Privacy Consultant on a contract basis, providing services to personal, SMB, commercial, and government entities. Jonathan'sresponsibilities included conducting security and privacy awareness training, cyber-attack awareness and defense training for leadership, developing and reviewing IT/data security policies and procedures, incident response and management, security/privacy impact assessments and auditing, physical security auditing, network security auditing, IT management and leadership mentoring, and contract/agreement review.

Before that, they worked as a Public Speaker at an undisclosed company from July 2017 onwards. Jonathan gave speeches on topics related to data security, privacy, and IT management.

Jonathan's earliest work experience dates back to 2002 when they joined The University of Tulsa. Jonathan held various positions during their tenure, including Chief Information Security Officer, Chief Services Officer/Computer Security Response Team Lead, and Director of Client Services & Computer Support Supervisor. In these roles, they were responsible for driving digital transformation, managing IT security and services budgets, leading proactive technology strategies and procedures, establishing high-performance teams, and leveraging reporting and analytics for alignment with business goals. Jonathan'stenure at The University of Tulsa lasted until January 2023, where they served in multiple leadership positions.

Jonathan Kimmitt is currently working towards a Certificate in Privacy Law and Cyber Security at Seton Hall University School of Law, starting in 2019 and continuing until 2020. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration/Management from The University of Tulsa. In addition to their formal education, Jonathan has earned several certifications, including a Fellow in Information Privacy from the IAPP - International Association of Privacy Professionals in July 2020, a Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer from ISACA in May 2020, and a GIAC Security Operations Manager from GIAC Certifications in May 2022. Jonathan also holds certifications such as GIAC Law of Data Security & Investigations (GLEG), GIAC Systems and Network Auditor (GSNA), Certified Ethical Hacker from the EC-Council, GIAC Certified Penetration Tester (GPEN), PCI-Professional from the PCI Security Standards Council, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)², OneTrust Certified Professional, Certified Information Privacy Manager, Certified Information Privacy Professional - Europe (CIPP/E), Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT), and Palo Alto Networks - Accredited Configuration Engineer (ACE).
