Edwin Teoh

Head of Data Center Operations, APAC & Middle East at Alibaba Group

Edwin Teoh is the Head of Data Center Operations for Alibaba in the APAC and Middle East regions. Prior to joining Alibaba, Edwin was with ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC) from November 2015 to April 2017, where they were Manager of Critical Infrastructure. Edwin was part of the initial build project team that drove the deliverable of the STT GDC flagship data centre building. As head of the Critical Infrastructure Team, Edwin managed and operated the STT GDC flagship data centre, set up operating processes and procedures, and drove excellences in keeping the facility operational 24/7. Edwin also drove energy efficiency standard (SS564) certification and managed subsequent phases of project provisioning in accordance to customer requirements and drove projects delivery. Edwin was also the Critical Emergency Response Team (CERT) site main controller.

Edwin was previously a Senior Project Manager with Turner & Townsend from December 2013 to October 2015. Prior to that, they were a Senior Mechanical Engineer with DSCO Group from May 2009 to August 2012. Edwin is also a Member of the Institute of Engineers Singapore M&E TC, and has served as Assistant Director with the Government and Private Sector from September 2012 to November 2013.

Edwin Teoh's educational background consists of a mix of technical and business-related degrees and certifications. Edwin has a B.Eng in Mechanical Engineering from Nanyang Technological University Singapore, as well as a Graduate Diploma in Finance & Investment from Aventis School of Management - City University of New York. Edwin is also a Certified Green Mark Manager and a Certified Data Centre Design Professional.

Edwin Teoh reports to Li Cheng, CTO. Edwin Teoh works with Hong Ding - Head of Design, User Experience, Howard Hao Wang - CTO, Lazada & Senior Director of Engineering, and Oleksandr Iskhakov - VP, Technology.
