Michael Yao

Michael Yao has over 25 years of experience in investment banking and corporate finance. Michael is currently the SVP and Head of Corporate Finance at Alibaba. Prior to joining Alibaba, Yao was the founder and managing director of ARX Advisors Limited, a boutique investment banking advisory firm focused on advising middle market companies. Michael also spent 13 years at Goldman Sachs, where they were a managing director focused on equity capital markets fundraising for Asia-based companies. While at Goldman Sachs, Yao worked on several landmark transactions, including the privatizations of PetroChina, Bank of China (Hong Kong), and MTRC. Michael is also experienced in project finance and fixed income products.

Michael Yao earned their BS in Economics from The Wharton School, cum laude, with a focus in finance and marketing.
