Deric Hood

Deric Hood is a seasoned engineer with extensive experience in research and development, currently serving as a Senior R&D Engineer in Emerging Technology at Align Technology since October 2018, focusing on innovative wearable and implantable medical devices for the Invisalign system. Prior to this, Deric Hood held multiple roles at TacSense Inc. from January 2017 to September 2018, including Manager of the Sensing Innovation Team, where leadership involved developing tactile solutions across various industries. Previous experience includes a significant tenure at the University of California, Davis, working as a Research Assistant in the Micro-Nano Innovations Laboratory, where notable projects included designing ultra-thin iontronic pressure sensors. Deric Hood holds a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering and has academic foundations in Chemistry and Physics from prestigious institutions, including the University of California, Davis.
