Jason Safko

Jason Safko is a seasoned chemist with extensive experience in the coatings and adhesives sector, currently serving as a Sr. Process Chemist at Align Technology since March 2023. Previously, Jason held various positions at Zymergen from December 2018 to May 2023, including Scientist II and Scientist I, where notable contributions included spearheading process development for water repellent coatings and leading independent research on novel resin synthesis. A strong background in R&D was established at Carpenter Co., where Jason advanced prepolymer and elastomer product development and served as the technical liaison for polyester polyol applications. Academic experience includes teaching general chemistry labs as an adjunct professor at Christopher Newport University and developing research projects as a graduate student at William & Mary, earning a Master's in Inorganic Chemistry.
