Yixin (Vera) Xu is currently an R&D Engineer III in Emerging Technology at Align Technology, a position held since December 2022. Previously, Yixin Xu served as a Graduate Research Assistant at Boston University from September 2017 to November 2022, focusing on the fundamentals and applications of stimulus-responsive nanoconduits, and as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, instructing over 100 students in programming with MATLAB and C, while also supervising lab sections. Prior experience includes roles as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the South University of Science and Technology of China, where charge stability of electrets for MEMS electrostatic energy harvesting devices was improved, and at UC Irvine, where a microfluidic malaria biomarker sensing platform was prototyped. Yixin Xu earned a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Boston University and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Southern University of Science and Technology.
