Joan Hester

Joan Hester has a diverse range of work experience in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry. Joan began their career in 2004 as a Sales Professional at sanofi-aventis, where they successfully promoted and sold various products to primary care physicians and specialists. Joan then joined Schering-Plough Pharmaceuticals in 2006, where they continued to excel in sales and quickly improved market share in their territory.

In 2007, Joan worked as a Veterinary Territory Manager at Sanuwave, Inc, promoting a specific machine to veterinarians in multiple states. Joan successfully organized product demonstrations and trained representatives for other territories.

Joan's career continued to progress, working as a Sales Professional for InVentiv Health, promoting products to healthcare professionals in the Atlanta area. Joan was recognized for their leadership and consistently delivered strong sales results.

Joan then transitioned to various roles at different companies, including Impax Laboratories, Upsher-Smith Laboratories, and Avanir Pharmaceuticals, where they gained experience in sales and management positions.

In 2010, Joan worked at Tenet Healthcare South Fulton Medical Center as a Physician Relationship Manager. In this role, they actively promoted and expanded various hospital services by collaborating with the Chief Development Officer and CEO.

Since 2016, Joan has been with Alimera Sciences, initially serving as a Senior Medical Science Liaison and later progressing to the role of Director of Medical Affairs. Currently, they hold the position of Senior Director of Medical Affairs, demonstrating their expertise and leadership in the company.

Joan Hester obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Psychology from the Georgia Institute of Technology between the years 1998 and 2002. Following that, they pursued their Master of Science (MS) degree in Pharmacology at Tulane University from 2002 to 2003.
