Michael O'Connell

Michael O'Connell currently serves as the Senior Director of Business Process Excellence and Senior Director of IT at Alkermes, with a focus on formulating and implementing business strategies, including a five-year Business Unit strategy for Laboratory and Manufacturing Automation. Prior to this role, Michael was the Senior Director and Head of IT at Elan Drug Technologies, where responsibilities included managing the IT separation from the parent company during the acquisition by Alkermes and overseeing a significant change program. Michael's earlier career at Elan spanned various roles, including Director of Learning & Development and Information Technology, I.T. Director, and Director of European Infrastructure and Operations. Michael began in the Department of Defence as an IT Operations Manager and Telecoms Technician.
