Tanis Mar

Tanis Mar is a prominent professional in robotics and artificial intelligence, currently serving as the Robotic Manipulation Lead at ALL3 since October 2024. Prior experience includes significant roles at Dyson, where Tanis held positions as Lead Robotics Research Engineer and Senior Robotics Researcher from November 2017 to July 2024. At the Italian Institute of Technology from June 2013 to November 2017, Tanis worked as a Senior Research Fellow and PhD Student, focusing on algorithms for tool affordances in humanoid robot manipulation. Earlier roles include Research Assistant positions at Universitätsklinikum Hamburg-Eppendorf, where Tanis researched sensorimotor contingencies, at NIRx at Berlin NeuroImaging Center, developing tools for Brain-Computer Interfaces, and at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering, TU-Dresden, specializing in automatic ECG classification. Tanis holds a PhD in Robotics and AI from the Italian Institute of Technology, a Master's degree in Computational Neuroscience from the Bernstein Center for Computational Neuroscience, and an M.Eng. in Telecommunications Engineering from Universidad de Zaragoza.
