Emily Vale is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in both academia and legal practice. Currently serving as a Lecturer in Contract Law at the University of Sydney and holding the position of Senior Associate at Allens since July 2022, Emily has also contributed to the Australian Law Journal as an Assistant General Editor from January 2018 to January 2025. Previous roles include Associate at JONES DAY® from February 2016 to June 2022, and Research/Legal Officer at the Department of Justice and Attorney-General QLD, where involvement included the Barrett Adolescent Centre Commission of Inquiry. Emily began career as an Associate to a Supreme Court Judge at the Supreme Court of Queensland from January 2013 to September 2014. Academically, Emily holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of Cambridge and dual undergraduate degrees in Law (LLB) and Commerce (BCom) with a focus on Finance from Bond University.
