Roy Studness

Roy Studness has a strong background in finance and investment, with a focus on researching small community banks and developing value-oriented portfolio strategies. Roy has worked as a Vice President - Senior Research Analyst at AllianceBernstein since 2021. Prior to that, they were an Adviser at First Manhattan Co. from 2006 to 2021, where they outperformed benchmarks by engaging with management teams of more than 40 banks. From 2015 to 2020, they served as a Portfolio Manager at Studness Capital Management, where they demonstrated investment accountability with returns well above benchmarks. Roy also has experience working as an Associate at Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP from 2001 to 2004.

Roy Studness has a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Government from Wesleyan University, which they obtained between the years 1994 and 1998. Roy pursued a Doctor of Law (JD) degree from Vanderbilt University Law School from 1998 to 2001. Lastly, they completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Columbia Business School between 2004 and 2006.
