Wander Wadman

Wander Wadman, PhD, is an accomplished data scientist specializing in forecasting and simulation for the energy sector. Currently serving as a Data Science D at Alliander since July 2025, Wander focuses on modeling future initiatives in the MV grid to enhance grid reliability and reduce operational costs. Previously, as a Senior Data Scientist at bol.com, significant contributions included developing forecasting services that optimized stock levels and saved substantial costs. As a co-founding member of Utopus Insights, leadership in the wind power forecasting product demonstrated expertise in deep learning applications. Earlier roles included postdoctoral research at IBM T.J. Watson Research Center and CWI Amsterdam, where Wander engaged in simulation tool development and power grid reliability analysis. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Applied Mathematics from the University of Amsterdam, complemented by MSc and Bachelor's degrees from Delft University of Technology.
