Wouter Akker

Wouter Akker, van den, currently serves as Principal Strategist for Energy System and Corporate Strategy at Alliander since January 2021, while also holding the position of Distinguished Research Associate in Electrical Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology. Concurrently, Wouter has been a Councillor of the municipality of Rozendaal since March 2018. Prior roles at Alliander include Manager of Strategy & Innovation, where responsibilities involved adapting electricity and gas networks for the energy transition, and Senior Advisor for Strategy Asset Management, focusing on future energy networks. Wouter's experience also includes nearly a decade at TenneT in asset management roles, where key contributions involved policy frameworks and asset performance monitoring, as well as a significant tenure at Eaton Electrical managing European technology operations. Wouter holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology, earned in 1996.
