Heather Byron

SVP Services at Alliants

Heather Byron has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Heather is currently serving as the SVP Services at Alliants since August 2022. Prior to this, they worked as the Customer Success Director at NashTech from November 2020 to July 2022.

Heather also founded and served as the Director of Vela Group Limited, where they provided Business Change & Transformation, Project & Programme Management, and Business Advisory & Assessment services to clients across various sectors. Notable projects include leading a customer-centric transformation for a global energy business and delivering a Maturity Review to a major London NHS Foundation Trust. Heather held this role from June 2017 to October 2020.

Before Vela Group Limited, Heather worked at BP as the Digital Foundations Programme Manager from November 2016 to November 2017. Prior to that, they served as the IT and Business Programme Manager at Shell from August 2015 to September 2016, where they headed several high-profile initiatives, including the development of a Value methodology for Global IT and the mobilization of a new Learning & Development organization.

In addition, Heather worked at Shell as the Corporate IT Programme Director from September 2012 to March 2015. In this role, they managed large-scale IT programmes and led Shell's migration to cloud collaboration services. Prior to that, they served as the Programme Delivery Manager for Gas & Power Trading and Oil & Shipping at Shell from May 2010 to September 2012, overseeing a portfolio of projects and implementing new delivery and budgetary control processes.

Before joining Shell, Heather spent more than ten years at Accenture UK as a Management Consultant. During their tenure, they held various roles and worked on projects such as the SAP Deployment at Shell and the SAP implementation at BP Australia. Heather started their career as a Marketing Assistant at Melcrum Publishing in 1998.

Outside of their professional career, Heather served as the Fundraising Events Chair at The Children's Society from 2008 to 2010.

Heather Byron has a strong educational background in musicology and ethnomusicology. Heather began their education at Lancaster University, where they earned a degree in Music from 1995 to 1998. During this time, Heather also attended the University of California, Berkeley, from 1996 to 1997, focusing on Musicology. Afterwards, they pursued a Master of Arts degree in Musicology and Ethnomusicology at the University of California, Berkeley, from 1997 to 1998. Heather furthered their studies at King's College London, specializing in Musicology, from 1998 to 1999.

In addition to their academic achievements, Heather Byron also holds a certification as an APM Member from the Association for Project Management. Heather obtained this certification in August 2018.
